Teeth whitening

It is the application of chemicals such as peroxide to the tooth surface to break down the pigment that makes the color of your teeth brighter.

Generally divided into 2 types:

  1. Home Bleaching, the dentist will take an impression of the patient’s mouth. Then send it to make personalized teeth whitening trays. The individual teeth whitening trays will be worn together with the teeth whitening agent.
  2. Bleaching by a dentist is called In-Office Bleaching. The dentist will apply a substance onto the teeth and leave it while stimulating this substance to work.
    Using blue light (Cool Light) or laser light Bleach for approximately 2 – 4 hours.

Veneer

Veneers are the use of tooth-colored material to cover the surface of the tooth. It is done when you want to correct a slight abnormality in the size, shape, or position of your teeth. In some cases it is possible to change the color of the teeth.

Types of tooth veneers There are 2 main types

  • Making the workpiece directly inside the mouth with composite resin.
  • Creating a piece from a lab and putting it in the mouth, which is made of ceramic material. It will be more durable than the first type.

Advantages – Disadvantages

  • Advantages : It is durable, beautiful, and the color will be whiter with more control than teeth whitening. You can choose the color you want from the beginning.
  • Disadvantage : is that there is tooth grinding. It can cause tooth loss.

You should take good care of your oral hygiene and also refrain from using it abnormally, such as biting hard or sticky food.
